FOUNDER STORY

From the Passenger Seat to a National Network

The idea of Nexus Auto Transport began with our founder’s family. He witnessed the challenges of car shipping from time on the road with his father. Each of these trips covered short and long routes from the Midwest to the South and along the East Coast. That includes through extreme weather conditions, shifting schedules, evolving customer demands, and the harsh realities of long-haul car transport.

It was during this time that an idea became much clearer. Our founder realized there was a steep disconnect between what the customer expected, what the broker could provide, and the experience of the actual car transport driver. Each role, while crucial in its own right, was not coordinated, leading to communication gaps and limited support for the customer.

What made me get into the industry is noticing how hard the truckers work hauling cars all across the states during my experience on the road with my father as his companion while he drove from Chicago to Florida and back.

That experience growing up shaped how Nexus is different today. Instead of siloing car shipping into a single transaction, our professional team uses an inclusive process. Every piece is managed with intention, setting clearly defined roles and using hands-on coordination from pickup to drop-off.

Our founder introduced a restructuring into the industry. Separate responsibilities were coordinated into a single effort among transport, dispatch, and customer support. Each phase is actively managed rather than passed along, setting the tone for a complete customer experience that incorporates what carriers see in real time to ensure consistent operations from coast to coast and border to border.

I witnessed firsthand the connection between the customer, the broker, and the truck driver, and I was able to get a grasp of what can be done better. That was to service the customers more hands-on and separate the role of the brokerage team members.
