Car Enthusiast
Who am I?

I bring a career full of experience in the automotive industry to Nexus Auto Transport.

I earned a degree in Journalism, but even before graduation, I was getting paid to write about automobiles and motorsports events. I cut my teeth at a daily newspaper, then moved to an editorial position at a niche motorsports magazine. That experience got me hired at the most prominent automotive publisher in the world at the time, where I worked as a feature editor.

An opportunity opened in the marketing world, so I left full-time editorial behind. In my career, I've guided marketing at two major tire companies, represented some of the biggest names in the automotive aftermarket at an ad agency, built-up the enthusiast social media presence at a major online retailer and even managed one of the most famous racing schools in the world.

I've now come full circle and am back working as a writer full-time and am pleased to contribute to the Nexus Auto Transport blog.

What does car shipping mean to me?

In my career, I've had to ship cars for marketing and motorsports events, including show cars, race cars, promotional cars, driving event cars and company cars. I learned the value of a trusted auto transport company given the importance of each of the cars above arriving on schedule in pristine condition. I believe that Nexus Auto Transport can provide the same high levels of service I received as a frequent corporate shipper to customers moving just one vehicle a few hundred or thousand miles.

What was the first car I bought?

I will skip over some of the beaters I'd purchased with my father's help and instead tell you about the first car I truly bought (and secured financing for) on my own. It was a 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S, now commonly known as an AE86 or by its Japanese nickname Hachi-Roku. The model became famous in Japanese Manga (graphic novels) and a vital role in the early days of the sport of Drifting. Unfortunately, I had to sell mine to help buy a house, trading it in on grown-up responsibilities.

What is my dream car?

Ferrari F40, full stop. Developed to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary, it was the last car personally approved by Enzo before his passing. It's a true analog supercar (probably the last) and used many race-proven components from the 288 GTO Evoluzione. No ABS, no power assist in steering or brakes steering, and no carpets, door trim, or door handles. Not even a radio. While its 2.9 L twin-turbo V8 produced 471 horsepower, which doesn't seem like much today, it powered the F40 to over 200 MPH, the first street Ferrari to do so.
